NEW Deadlock Hero Spotlight: Celeste

Coney Island's biggest star has arrived. Celeste is an incredibly mobile spirit damage dealer with strong sustain, a multi-target weapon, and high DPS.

Celeste is a nimble carnival performer specializing in aerial movement. She has a base stamina of four as well as a passive that grants her enhanced air control, increased air acceleration, and even reduces the effects of gravity.

Her weapon, Carny Life, has a unique trait, it has a generous auto-aim bounce effect. Skilled players can land shots on enemies directly and their shot will bounce to a second enemy behind the first, while less accurate players like me can shoot the ground near enemies for an auto-aim shot. It’s not pure auto-aim like Graves has, the angle is quite limited, and if you shoot the ground you’ll be missing out on the second target’s bounce damage, but it’s definitely an interesting weapon, and really good for chasing down enemies.

Before we dive into her abilities, make sure to check out the new Tracklock App which comes with an in-game overlay, loads live match data, and has live Deadlock profile updates. You can find it at Tracklock.gg.

Let’s talk abilities.

Her first ability is “Light Eater”, which will blast enemies in a cone in front of you with a flare of light, dealing spirit damage. Additionally, enemies that were hit by the ability will now take bonus spirit damage per bullet when attacked by Celeste, and those bullets are given bonus spirit lifesteal.

Her second ability is “Dazzling Trick”, which gives her a barrier that has spirit scaling, as well as grants bonus movement speed. If the barrier is destroyed, it triggers an explosion, silencing and dealing spirit damage to all enemies around her.

Her third ability is Radiant Daggers, which calls down a beam of light from the sky which explodes after a short duration, damaging enemies caught inside the radius. Hitting an enemy hero will give Celeste a stackable buff that amplifies her spirit damage, and also her fire rate when upgraded. It has a maximum of 6 stacks, and the buff duration is long enough to continue stacking through repeated use of the ability.

Her ultimate is Shining Wonder, which launches a deadly orb that deals spirit damage, and attaches to the first enemy hit. If there are no other enemies present, it will linger for a few seconds before disappearing. However, if there are other enemies present it will bounce between targets, damaging and applying a debuff with each bounce. The debuff slows enemies down and reduces their dashing distance. Fully upgrading her second ability allows the bouncing effect to work on Celeste, allowing her to chase down enemies that don’t shoot the shield for fear of being silenced.
