NekoScore Updates!
Valve Match Score
- Valve has changed the match scores that Tracklock used to calculate NekoScore, therefore NekoScore has been reset.
- This number now appears to be the matches true MMR
- We are now calling this number the Valve Match Score (Previously we called it either Match Score or Match NekoScore). It is direct from the game and is not calculated by Tracklock.
- The 50th percentile of the new Valve Match Score is exactly 1500
- All NekoScores will be calculated from this new Valve Match Score
- Here is a preliminarly calculation distribution of the new Valve Match Scores, but these numbers are not final.
- Tracklock still gets match data from the watch tab in game. Therefore some games are not tracked. Only 2000 games at once time are in the watch tab.

NekoScore Changes
- NekoScore has been reset
- NekoScore is a rolling average of the Valve Match Scores of the games you have been in.
- It is calculated by Tracklock and not by valve.
- Now uses a new algorithm that is more resistant to out of distribution match scores.
- Games with scores far outside of your average will be ignored
- You can now see your score changes from game to game
- In this chart below, the yellow dots are a players match scores, the green line is the old NekoScore calculation, purple is a simple rolling average and the red line is the new nekoscore algorithm.
Old Match Scores
- Old NekoScore is still available at the bottom of the profile page.
- It appears that the old match score was a transformed version of the real MMR.
- Tracklock applied a 2.5x multiplier to the old match score to get the scores you saw on the website. This is because the scores only went from ~25 - 800 and we thought they looked better as larger numbers.
- We no long apply any transformation to the valve match scores.
Tracklock Leaderboard and Ranks
- Leaderboard and ranks have not been done yet.
Official Ranked Mode
- Official ranked mode is coming soon.
- Tracklock will keep supporting NekoScore, however it is just an approximation. Ranked mode will be the most accurate measure of your skill.
