Character Background

Silver, one of the six new heroes introduced in Deadlock’s “Old Gods, New Blood” update. She’s the first hero in the game with two entirely separate sets of abilities: one for her human form and another for her cursed Lycan form.

Silver is a bounty hunter who’s been a werewolf for as long as she can remember. She tries to bring in her bounties alive, but her non-lethal approach doesn’t always seem to work out. She’s chasing the ritual for a shot at real wealth and a chance to turn her life around, but mostly to cover her rent, and pay for a steady supply of liquor and smokes. And while Silver states her curse is under control; it’s the rest of her bad habits that keep slipping the leash.

Silver Hero Spotlight

Silver’s weapon is called Hair of the Dog, a lever-action shotgun she uses while she’s in human form. It has medium range, and it’s capable of firing and reloading a single shell at a time. When she transforms into a werewolf, her weapon switches to a melee attack. In both forms, her weapon is her primary source of damage, and her abilities are designed to amplify it.

Silver’s first human form ability is “Slam Fire”. This instantly reloads your shotgun and powers up your next three shots with rapid fire and bonus damage based on the target’s current health percentage. It’s perfect for bursting down tankier enemies, winning lane trades, or quickly bringing down objectives. Use it when your clip is empty, as it fully reloads the shotgun even if you have ammo-increasing items.

Silver’s second human form ability is “Boot Kick”. Dash forward and deliver a melee kick to the first enemy you connect with, dealing damage, staggering them, and applying a mark. As a bonus, you get to do a SICK backflip, which will return you to your starting position. Shooting a marked target will consume the mark and deal bonus spirit damage to them. The combo potential here is insane, as you can activate Slam Fire during the backflip animation, allowing you to land three amplified shots the moment your feet touch the ground.

Silver’s third human form ability is “Entangling Bola”. Throw it to deal spirit damage to the first enemy hit and apply a debuff that prevents them from jumping or using stamina, as well as restricting use of movement abilities. It’s a powerful tool for catching fleeing targets or setting up kills on out of position enemies, as it makes it much easier to close the gap when they can’t run away.

Silver’s final human form ability is her ultimate, “Lycan Curse”. You build up Bloodlust by damaging enemies, headshots and heavy melee attacks seem to charge it the fastest. Once the meter fills, Silver begins her transformation into a werewolf. If you want, you can activate the ultimate during this stage and transform early. Upon transformation, you get instant burst healing, a movement speed boost, extra max health, and resistances to bullets, spirit damage, and headshots. Your human abilities are swapped out for Lycan abilities, and your shotgun is replaced by claws. Silver will remain in Werewolf form until the duration runs out, reverting her back to human form and her ultimate will go on cooldown, preventing any bloodlust from building up until it’s ready again.

In Lycan form, hitting enemy heroes with your claws will give you a stackable fire rate buff, which can increase your DPS dramatically.

Silver’s first werewolf ability is “Go For the Throat”. A bite attack that deals melee damage to enemies directly in front of her, and it does bonus damage to lower-health targets. It also heals you for a percentage of the damage dealt, which provides fantastic sustain in werewolf form.

Her second werewolf ability is “Mauling Leap”. Leap forward to deal melee damage to the first enemy hit. It also applies a spirit damage over time effect and a bullet resistance debuff that makes your claws hit even harder.

Silver’s third werewolf ability is “Tail Whack”. Silver swings her tail around her, dealing spirit damage and both disarming and slowing any enemies she hits. This ability in particular is very effective at oppressing gun build heroes.

In lane, Silver holds her own at medium range with the shotgun, but she really comes excels when she’s able to close the gap. Boot Kick into Slam Fire is a devastating combo for winning trades and securing kills. Once you unlock your ultimate, keep an eye on your bloodlust. Dealing too much damage can force a transformation at the wrong moment, but timing it right can turn bad situations around. The burst heal, resistances, and built-in sustain make chasing a low-health Silver an extremely risky gamble.

In teamfights, she’s excellent at chasing down isolated or out of position targets. Land an Entangling Bola to cancel their mobility, allowing you and your team to collapse in on the target. When you transform, dive in to disrupt the backline and peel for your team. Werewolf form has fantastic sustain and resistances lets you stay in the fight much longer than most expect.
